Community Matters – Helping Homeless Hounds

minute read

At Technoprint, we value our community and love to get engaged whenever we can.

From providing apprenticeships to supporting local charities, it’s always been important to us to give back. And thanks to the impact of the pandemic, more than ever, we want to give as much as we can to those businesses, charities, and societies in need of a helping hand.

We were pleased to announce that recently, the efforts of our Technoprint staff have raised a whopping £477.50 for Lancashire based charity Homeless Hounds.

Homeless Hounds is a great charity in Fylde Coast, whose mission is to save the lives of stray and abandoned dogs by housing them in their kennels until they find loving foster homes, or transporting them to other rescues, all via the help of its volunteers. The dogs are sometimes ill or injured, and donations go to vet fees and boarding facilities to care for them before they go to their new homes.

To raise this amazing amount, Technoprint staff were sponsored by friends and family to collectively walk, run, or cycle the equivalent mileage of the distance between London and Paris – 275 miles in total.

We also ran a Premier League prediction competition, which was £5 to enter, with half of the proceeds going to Homeless Hounds and the other half of the winnings to the most accurate prediction.

At Technoprint, we’re all a bunch of dog lovers, so Homeless Hounds was the perfect charity choice for us all to get fundraising last year. Not only did we manage to raise nearly £500 which will go a long way toward the day-to-day activities of the charity, but it also brought us together as a business too and kept us moving through lockdown.

Our donation was welcomed by Mary Horner at Homeless Hounds, who commented: “We were delighted to receive this donation from the Technoprint team, which will go towards helping pups in need get the care they need to go on and start new lives in loving foster homes.

“Peter and I decided to bring Loki the Akita puppy down to see everybody who took part and say a big thank you – he received a lot of attention and treats for his good behaviour!”
