Technoprint’s Business Trip to Brazil
minute read
Technoprint prides itself on innovation. We 100% believe that innovation is crucial to the continuing success of any organisation. This is why attending exhibitions, and business trips, such as to Brazil (and our other recent trip to Germany) to meet like minded professionals from similar companies who share this passion is vital to us.
On a recent trip to Brazil, Managing Director, Alan Ryan met Sandro Ribeiro the Industrial Manager from CCL Labels in Vinhedo near Sao Paulo. This is Brazil’s largest label printing site employing over 300 staff with 19 production lines generating sales of £80M + per annum.
Part of their production facility is dedicated to Expanded Content Labels (ECL) – this is where a printed information leaflet is built within the self adhesive label to provide additional space necessary for information required as part of legislation.
Alan said:
“The production facilities at this site are world class having temperature, relative humidity control and positive air pressure. It was very interesting to understand the reasoning why these controls were designed into their production facility and the advantages that they provide – this is identical to Technoprint’s plans for our new premises.”
Discussion took place regarding a further meeting in the UK later this year when they have a technical meeting scheduled.
Alan also met Davidson Tome (owner/M.D.) and Roberto Bramucci (Industrial Manager) of Graficos Sangar based in the south of Sao Paulo city. Graficos Sangar operates from two sites, one producing self adhesive labels and one producing patient information leaflets. They have sales of £14M+ employing 130 staff have have seen sales increase ten fold in the last 10 years – the vast majority of these additional sales have been generated form selling patient information leaflets (PIL’s) into the Pharmaceutical industry.
Alan said:
“The range of specialist printing and folding equipment they have on site was fascinating to see first hand – Sangar are the largest supplier of PIL’s in Brazil.”
Alan spent the whole day with Davidson and Roberto visiting both their sites, then visiting FCE Pharma exhibition in the afternoon/evening.
The trip was a huge success, leaving lots of food for thought – especially in regards to the planning of our new premises, all set for early next year.
We hope to all meet again at the Label Expo Exhibition in Brussels later in October.
