Team Technoprint currently consists of over 25 members of staff. Each and every person has a special role to play within the organisation. Team work is key to our success. With this in mind, we would like to introduce to you all, a member of staff each month. This month it is…
Graham is one of our Quality Officers and is celebrating 5 years at Technoprint this month. Working within QC, he is responsible for conducting quality control tests on our products to ensure they comply with the specifications and standards set by the British Standards Institution (BSI) and Technoprint before being despatched to the customer; he is also responsible for managing paper stock levels.
Graham is an integral member of the team and brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience having been in the printing industry for over 50 years! Having completed his apprenticeship at Liverpool’s Print School in 1973, Graham continued his print career working on various presses as a Printing Officer. In 1988, he succeeded his parents to run the family business which employed over 20 staff with an annual turnover of £900K. Sadly when the recession hit in 2008, the company couldn’t sustain the losses so it had to close just 10 days short of being in business for 48 years.
Graham says the best thing about working at Technoprint is using his knowledge to ensure the Technoprint team continue to meet the expectations of their clients. His advice to anyone considering a career within the print industry is that it is the 5th largest financial business section in the country, covering a myriad of disciplines, as diverse as newspapers, magazines, books, cartons, labels as well as general print so a varied career is available.
Now that Graham is semi-retired, he spends much of his free time travelling and there aren’t many places in the world that Graham and his wife haven’t travelled to! He also enjoys gardening, looking after the grandchildren and the cat!
