Meet the Team: Nicholas Mobley

Our first Meet the Team of 2023 sees us sit down with our fantastic production team leader, Nicholas Mobley.

A Technoprint veteran, Nick has been with the business for 17 years and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of production, unsurprisingly, knows the company inside out.

He combines work with being a devoted family man and supporting the blue half of Manchester.

Nick’s role

As a production team leader, Nick plays a vital role in company operations and is responsible for ensuring that projects are finished to a high standard and in a timely manner for our customers.

His role includes making sure his team have what they need to complete their tasks effectively, as well as working hard on his own production jobs.

Nick also works closely with general manager Jacqui Morris and key account manager Sam Noden to ensure that each project is planned effectively and meets the needs of the customer.

One of his favourite aspects of the role is that he’s able to teach colleagues new skills and help further their development.

Nick’s career

Prior to working at Technoprint, Nick spent two years as a painting and decorating apprentice for the local council. He then joined Technoprint back in May 2005, at the age of 19, with virtually no qualifications and admits that, at this stage, his career prospects were limited.

However, Technoprint took a chance on him and after starting out as an apprentice print finisher, Nick has worked his way up to the position of production team leader, a role he was recently promoted to.

His promotion is his proudest career achievement, to date, and he says that: “Reaching this level was a goal of mine when I joined all those years ago, so it feels great that I’ve achieved this ambition.”

During his time with the company, he also counts developing literacy and numeracy skills as one of his highlights, along with winning the local charity tug of war competition as part of a Technoprint team.

Why Nick loves being a part of Team Technoprint

Throughout his Technoprint career, Nick has been given the opportunity to complete a variety of training courses, from Health and Safety to Pharmaceutical Quality, which have helped to equip him with the skills he’s needed to progress at the company.

He relishes the fact that the nature of his role means every day brings a new challenge. Nick also loves that Technoprint is a place where each member of the team can thrive and better themselves.

For those considering a career in the print industry he has some invaluable advice: “It’s important that you have a good work ethic and are enthusiastic to learn new skills.

“When you work in print, you never stop learning!”

Outside of work

When he’s not leading the production team, Nick enjoys spending time with his family and is a proud father to his eight-month-old son. He’s also an avid supporter of Manchester City and enjoys watching Pep Guardiola’s side win title after title.

Meanwhile, the items on Nick’s bucket list include swimming with dolphins and taking on an adrenaline-fuelled sky dive.
