Apprentice Photo Diary – Matt.
minute read
As it has been National Apprenticeship Week (NAW2016) we thought we would ask Matt, one of our apprentices in production, what his day is like at Technoprint.
Matt joined Technoprint in June 2015. He is currently training to become a fold machine operator.
08.00 – We have uniforms and safety shoes both to protect us and also to ensure that there is no contamination from outside into the factory. We have a quick discussion about the day ahead with our production manager.
08.30 – Go to the job board and sees what is assigned to me for that day. I will take a job card, log on to the system and start the ‘make ready’ for that leaflet. When this is done, I can start the run, also logging this on the system.
11.00 – I go over to the office to print out my latest college work.
14.00 – We all have a meeting to discuss current work and any potential problems. This gives us chance to discuss any issues we are having with a certain job and to share ideas about improving them. It also gives Alan a chance to tell us how the company is doing on a whole.
16.30 – Time to go home!
