Apprentice Open Day 2015

minute read

Our first ever Apprentice Open Day last week saw us open our factory doors to 17 prospective trainees. Here our MD Alan Ryan explains why it was so important to him and to Technoprint.

I was incredibly pleased with our Open Day last week and thought it was a very successful event for Technoprint. Candidates were able to register their interest directly with me, and on satisfying certain criteria, were invited to attend. The purpose of the day was to show the potential new employees exactly ‘what we do’ and really help them to get a feel for working-life in a PS9000-accredited production facility. Many of those applying for our apprenticeships have come straight from school or college and, whilst they are technically-minded and have the right aptitude for engineering, simply do not have any experience in an industrial setting. This event has allowed these young men and women the chance to see first hand what this is like – which we hope will result in a more informed group of applicants. Also we are extremely impressed with our current apprentices and wanted to show the potential trainees how someone of their age can fit into a business like ours. The Open Day was a key event for Technoprint in that it firmly sets out our intentions for the future – to constantly have apprentices join us and develop through our company. I’d like to thank everyone for attending, and of course all our production team for their input. We will certainly repeat this event next year.

Alan will be continuing our recruitment drive with an appearance at Mid Cheshire College this Thursday 25th November. Alan will be promoting Technoprint and highlighting the advantages of an apprenticeship with us through testimonials from our very own team.
